O I haven’t written a poem/
In quite a long time,/
So I guess I’ll try writin’ one/
And try to make it rhyme.

If I work real hard/
And have a little luck,/
I might become a bard/
Writin’ ‘bout Starbucks.

Seems all those beautiful gals/
Have gone to Starbucks, Slick;/
So I gotta get over there, Pal/
And find me a chick.

Those Starbucks gals/
Look like a bunch of movie stars;/
But it’s I in my old truck/
And they in their fancy cars.

But I’ve found out somethin’/
‘Bout a truck I didn’t know:/
It’s if you have a truck,/
It’s with you they wanta go.

Somethin’ ‘bout a truck/
That makes a Starbucks honey/
Wanta climb up in that cab/
And help you spend your money!

Phone’s been a-ringin’
Off the wall.
People with problems
Continue to call.
Too many lawyers,
I’ve heard ‘em say;
But I say we don’t
Have enough today.
People got problems
And serious ones too;
Come see the lawyer
To learn what do do.
Some of ‘em even got
A few bucks to pay;
And, when they do,
It makes my day.
Lawbooks’ becomin’
A thing of the past;
Wonder how long
This thing’s gonna last!
Just got a call
From the F.B.I.;
Wants to talk to my client
Who ain’t gonna lie.
In need a break,
Just a brief pause;
It’s not too many lawyers,
But too many laws.

The Alcoholic Beverage Industry is more at fault than the consumers of alcoholic beverages sold in Louisiana. There seems to be a bar on every corner in most large towns in Louisiana–and small ones too–and they all have parking lots, and welcome with open arms those who drive to their businesses to consume alcoholic drinks and then drive off in their cars. Further, the Government of State of Louisiana profits so very much off of the taxes on alcoholic beverages sold in this state, that they should spend more alcohol-sales-proudced money on taking steps to assure that those consuming alcoholic beverages–off of whicih they profit–do not, subsequently to consuming alcoholic beverages in bar rooms and restaurants that sell alcoholic beverages, get in their cars parked on the parking lots of said alcoholic sales businesses–thus making money for the State of Louisiana–and then drive away “under the influence” of such alcoholic beverages. Those who profit off the sales of alcoholic beverages have just as much a responsibility to prevent DWI as do the “under the influence drivers” themselves. Ninety cents of sales taxes saved, is ten dollars and
ninety cents ($10.90) earned; and

Nine dollars of sales tax earned, is one hundred
and nine dollars ($109.00) earned; and

Ninety dollars of sales tax saved is one thousand
and ninety dollars ($1,090.00) earned; and

Nine hundred dollars of sales taxes saved is ten thousand
and nine hundred dollars (10,900.00) earned; and

Nine thousand dollars of sales taxes earned is one hundred
and nine thousand dollars ($109,000.00) earned; and

Ninety thousand dollars of sales taxes earned is one million
and ninety thousand dollars ($1, 090,000.00) earned; and

Nine hundred thousand dollars of sales taxes saved is
ten million and nine hundred thousand dollars ($10,900,000.00)
earned….

And so it goes!

Build up a resentment to having to pay nine-
percent sales taxes for the privilege of being
able to spend your disposable income after
your income has already been taxed twice and
begin to avoid paying sales taxes every way
you can and see just how fast your bank account,
savings and investments grow and grow and
grow; and soon you will be rich…if you are
not already.

And pat yourself on the back each time you’ve
beaten those who OWN/run the government
and get all the money paid in sales taxes.

There is more to it all than this, but this is
something to think about.
