How effective would Charlie Melancon be in the U. S. Senate, if there is a Republican majority after the November elections ? With most of his liberal pals gone and his friend Barack Obama a lame duck president. How could Charlie possible be a asset to us. When Vitter return to the U.S. Senate in the next term, he will have earned some very important leadership positions, that will be beneficial to Louisiana and represent our believes.......

EVEN CHARGES THE MEMBERS OF THE MCNEESE BAND TO ATTEND ITS FOOTBALL GAME AGAINST MCNEESE AT BATON ROUGE, IN A STADIUM PAID FOR BY THE LOUISIANA TAXPAYERS, AT A SCHOOL OWNED AND PAID FOR BY THE TAXPAYERS. WHAT A SCANDAL! COLLEGE FOOTBALL HAS BECOME JUST A BIG BUSINESS INDUSTRY AND THE PLAYERS ARE MONDERN-DAY SLAVES GETTING PAID NOTHING WHILE THOSE WHO “OWN” AND MANAGE THE TEAMS MAKE MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS OFF OF THE PLAYERS WHO DO THE REAL WORK AND WHO GET PAID NOTHING FOR THEIR LABORS, JUST EXPENSES NECESSARY FOR THEM TO BE THE REAL EMPLOYEES OF THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL INDUSTRY--AND OFF OF THE MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS MADE OFF OF THEIR LABORS. TALK ABOUT MODERN DAY SLAVERY! AND ALL AT UNIVERSITIES AND STADIUMS BUILT, BOUGHT AND PAID FOR BY THE TAXPAYERS! TALK ABOUT PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL! HOWEVER, THESE “PROFESSIONAL” FOOTBALL PLAYERS DON’T GET PAID ANYTHING FOR THEIR LABORERS, JUST LIVING EXPENSES NECESSARY FOR THEM TO BE WHERE THEY ARE DOING WHAT THEY DO.

I read you column in the shopper. I think you caved at the end. Everyone agrees they have a right to build a mosque. It's hardly worth saying. You say they probably shouldn't without giving a single reason why. How are you different then from the politicians you critique. It's not the fault of Islam alone that America is Islamophobic.

A Republican , in a wheelchair, entered a restaurant one afternoon and asked the waitress for a cup of coffee. The Republican looked across the restaurant and asked, “Is that Jesus sitting over there?”

The waitress nodded “yes,” so the Republican requested that she give Jesus a cup of coffee, on him.

The next patron to come in was a Libertarian, with a hunched back. He shuffled over to a booth, painfully sat down, and asked the waitress for a cup of hot tea. He also glanced across the restaurant and asked, “Is that Jesus, over there?”

The waitress nodded, so the Libertarian asked her to give Jesus a cup of hot tea, “My treat.”

The third patron to come into the restaurant was a Democrat on crutches. He hobbled over to a booth, sat down and hollered, “Hey there honey! How’s about gettin’ me a cold mug of Miller Light?” He too looked across the restaurant and asked, “Isn’t that God’s boy over there?

The waitress nodded, so the Democrat directed her to give Jesus a cold beer. “On my bill,” he said loudly.

As Jesus got up to leave, he passed by the Republican, touched him and said, “For your kindness, you are healed.” The Republican felt the strength come back into his legs, got up, and danced a jig out the door.

Jesus passed by the Libertarian, touched him and said, “For your kindness, you are healed.”
The Libertarian felt his back straightening up and he raised his hands, praised the Lord, and did a series of back flips out the door.

Then, Jesus walked towards the Democrat, just smiling.

The Democrat jumped up and yelled, “Don’t touch me .. I’m collecting disability.”

In your parish how many defendants are
unable to make bond and are awaiting trial?
In Calcasieu Parish there are hundreds of
them, and hardly is there ever a jury trial. A practice has developed here of defendants' pleading guilty to GET OUT OF JAIL, not pleading guilty and going to jail. Frankly, I think this is the scandal of the
Nation. What about your parish? Call
your Sheriff’s office and find out and let
us know. There is more to it all than this,
but this is something to think about.

Sincerely,

Hardy Parkerson, J.D.

The Off'ring
by
Hardy Parkerson

The pews were filled To hear the choir/
Hardly an empty space space./
They'd come for morning worship hour;/
Each one was in his place.

A wino sat on the back pew,/
As tears streamed down his face;/
The words he heard to him were new,/
As they sang "Amazing Grace."

He felt the sin that he'd brought in,/
It's burden pulled him down;/
He longed to hear that song again;/
O how he loved its sound!

His clothes were dirty, and he smelled/
Of cigarettes and booze;/
The preacher asked the ushers/
If they'd have that man removed.

He offered no resistance,/
As he quickly left that day;/
You could have hear a pin drop,/
As he scurried on his way.

The saints sat stunned and stolid:/
Such a shock with little warning!/
When the preacher rose to take the off'ring/
That fateful Sunday morning.

"All things are thine..." the preacher said,/
"You can't outgive the Lord;/
So let us give, as we feel led;/
And then I'll preach the Word."

They took the off'ring, filled the pan,/
And the Head of Deacons rose;/
And told the Ushers to find the man/
Who'd worn the dirty clothes.

And so they went and found him:/
This wretched, homeless knave;/
And put on him the preacher's robe,/
And to him the off'ring gave.

A wino sat on the back pew,/
As tears streamed down his face;/
The words he heard to him were new,/
As they sang “Amazing Grace.”

He felt the sin that he’d brought in,/
It’s burden pulled him down;/
He longed to hear that song again;/
O how he loved its sound!

His clothes were dirty, and he smelled/
Of cigarettes and booze;/
The preacher asked the ushers/
If they’d have that man removed.

He offered no resistance,/
As he quickly left that day;/
You could have hear a pin drop,/
As he scurried on his way.

The saints sat stunned and stolid:/
Such a shock with little warning!/
When the preacher rose to take the off’ring/
That fateful Sunday morning.

“All things are thine…” the preacher said,/
“You can’t outgive the Lord;/
So let us give, as we feel led;/
And then I’ll preach the Word.”

They took the off’ring, filled the pan,/
And the Head of Deacons rose;/
And told the Ushers to find the man/
Who’d worn the dirty clothes.

And so they went and found him:/
This wretched, homeless knave;/
And put on him the preacher’s robe,/
And to him the off’ring gave.

POST MADE ON POLITICSLA.COM FORUM:

BY "fred" - 25 June 2010 09:06 AM

"It’s Jim Brown, and he does a radio show where he badmouths Lake Charles and all it’s lawyers."

HARDY PARKERSON'S POST IN RESPONSE THERETO:

I know better than that. Jim Brown is probably
the most gifted and talented statesman living
in America today. He’s has better sense than
to publish such defamations against honorable
people. Pretty soon I expect the President to
grant him a full pardon for that minor offense
he was convicted of in Federal court--and of
which I am pretty sure he was not even guilty--
and, like Ronald Reagan, at a mature age,
he will run for an be elected President of the
United States.

Sincerely,

Hardy Parkerson, J.D.
Tulane Law, Class of 1966
Retired lawyer - after 41 years of active law and trial practice
Lake Charles

P.S.: I’M ON A MISSION!

I’m sixty-seven and in great condition./
All I’ve been through before/
Has just been my tuition/
For the lessons I’ve learned.

Now I’m ready to go!/
I’m on a mission!
