An Honor in the Family!

Kudos to Brother-in law Gary Solomon, who was  honored this week by receiving the Times Picayune’s annual Loving Cup Award, for his outstanding civic contributions and leadership throughout the New Orleans area and across the state. The Loving Cup has been awarded since 2001 to men and women who have worked unselfishly for the community without expectation of public recognition or material reward.

Gary’s focus has been New Orleans: housing, schools, improving city governance, disaster relief. His leadership record stretches long: American Red Cross of Southeast Louisiana, City Park Improvement Association, the Bring Back New Orleans Commission, Communities in Schools, the University of New Orleans Foundation, Fore!Kids Foundation, the Sewerage and Water Board, the New Orleans Business Council, Bayou District Foundation and the board of the University of Louisiana System. Congrats to a great Louisianan. We are pictured below at the ceremony in New Orleans this past Tuesday.  And yes, Gary did celebrate by drinking champagne out of the cup.
